About The Position

The Education Coordinator will assist the Education Director with administrative tasks and systems related to education at Centerpoint and the Merrimack Center. Our Intensive Residential Treatment Programs (IRTPs) are dedicated to providing trauma-informed care to youths facing serious mental health issues, intellectual disabilities, and challenging behaviors.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older.
• At least 1 year experience as a supervisor and administrator.
• At least 3 years of experience working in Special Education with young adults with emotional disabilities.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
• Learn to provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to provide the safest therapeutic atmosphere for our youth.

Nice To Haves

• Special Education license preferred but not required.
• Candidates with experience working with adolescents in an alternative school setting or treatment program are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support students and staff in the classrooms and residential milieu as needed.
• Compile written reports (including IEP progress reports, treatment reports, rounds).
• Cover classes for teachers when they are out.
• Support students 1:1 as needed.
• Support the Education Director with tasks as needed.
• Support students before school at breakfast, and on non-school days in the milieu, through providing student supervision, educational groups and educational field trips as appropriate for individuals/groups of students.
