About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) is seeking a detail-oriented Education Consultant 2 to join the Division of Federal Support & Grantee Relations. The primary role of this Education Consultant 2 is to serve as a subject matter expert for Title II-Part A and Title V- REAP grant programs. In addition, the Education Consultant 2 will also provide administrative support for division leaders and team members inclusive of ensuring accurate time and attendance, proper execution of contracts and other agreements in LaGov and other platforms and systems utilized within LDOE (i.e. Metastorm, etc.). The successful candidate will be well-organized, flexible, have the ability to multitask, work with many personalities, and support a team culture.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR An advanced degree plus two years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.
  • Knowledge of federal statute and experience with high level engagement of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and/or Google Suite
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written skills, and a collaborative mindset for interdepartmental projects

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Executive Director of federal programs and Division leadership daily
  • Employ time management skills to maximize multiple task/project completions
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure all time and attendance due dates and timelines are followed
  • Work collaboratively with interdepartmental teams to manage all contract and procurement systems, such as LaGov, Metastorm, contract tracker, etc.
  • Attend all internal and external meetings that pertain to work in the Division
  • Oversees and maintains strict confidentiality of documents and records and verbal and written communication
  • Coordinates and organizes projects, most without direction, and prepares materials such as agendas, timelines, reports and presentations
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of ESSA, as it related to Title II, Part A and Title V-REAP and provides any changes in the statute or regulations to the supervisor
  • Manage and coordinate all ordering for the Division
  • Works independently on special projects and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Federal Programs and Division Leadership
  • Completes all other duties or special projects requested by Division Leadership
