Education Assistant
About The Position
The Education Assistant assists school teachers in instructing and supervising students to help maintain a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom. The role supports assigned teachers by preparing instructional materials and classrooms, supervising and assisting children in the classroom and other areas of the school, reinforcing classroom lessons, and providing other assistance as requested. Depending on assignment, the position may assist students with special needs or coordinate special projects and programs. The position works under direct supervision and follows established procedures. Applicants must meet the stated education or assessment qualification. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required, or the ability to obtain it. Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate's degree, or completion of two years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours), or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test.
- Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
