About The Position

Great Salt Plains Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Education & Training Coordinator to support the professional development of staff across our organization. This newly refined position plays a critical role in onboarding, ongoing education, compliance training, and clinical development. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare and training delivery, a strong understanding of adult learning principles, and a passion for ensuring that employees are confident, competent, and compliant in their roles. This role supports quality improvement, patient safety, and operational excellence through structured education, training oversight, and hands-on coordination of learning programs.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Current BLS/CPR Instructor Certification required or must be obtained within a designated timeframe after hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, track, and maintain accurate training, certification, immunization, and employee health documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with varied audiences, departments, and learning styles.

Nice To Haves

  • A current Oklahoma license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is preferred.
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience in education, training, or staff development.
  • A degree in nursing, education, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Clinical experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using and training staff on electronic health record systems and healthcare applications is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for health center wide education which supports evidence-based practice, established clinical guidelines and policies, and defined educational outcomes.
  • Responsible for eCW and application training for new hires, as well as ongoing education and refresher training throughout the year.
  • Assess individual, care team, and organization-wide educational needs to develop individual and job specific training plans using appropriate training software, tools, and resources.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate education strategies, interventions, programs, and continuing education opportunities for staff.
  • Work closely and maintain regular communication with the Clinical Systems team, HR, department leaders and other appropriate teams to identify, coordinate, and implement relevant and time-sensitive training.
  • Provide education on the organization’s Infection Control/Health Exposure Plan and established infection prevention practices.
  • Conduct infection prevention education and training to all staff as required by HRSA,CDC, and organizational requirements.
  • Responsible for coordinating and completing onboarding training for all new hires, including required eCW, application, workflow, and job-specific training. Work closely with HR, department leaders, and other involved teams to ensure onboarding is scheduled, communicated, completed, and documented appropriately.
  • Responsible for developing, overseeing, and maintaining role-specific onboarding and training plans for all new hires, including monitoring completion, identifying gaps, and coordinating necessary follow-up.
  • Responsible for completing, managing, accurately tracking, and appropriately filing all new employee health documentation, testing, and immunization records in coordination with HR and the Director of Provider Services. All employee health activities must follow current CDC immunization guidance, established clinical protocols, and organizational requirements.
  • Responsible for completing, managing, and tracking all ongoing employee health requirements, including annual influenza vaccination, Tdap and other required immunizations, testing, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Responsible for tracking BLS/CPR certification requirements and renewal dates. Work with Director of Clinical Services in tracking and maintaining other required trainings for applicable staff.
  • Works closely with the Clinical Services and Clinical Systems Managers to complete competency checklists and ensure education is completed with the credentialing process. Conduct routine rounding across departments and locations to observe workflows, spend time with staff, identify educational needs, provide hands-on support, reinforce established processes, and address new or changing training needs as they arise.
