About The Position

Mejuri is seeking a seasoned editorial leader to collaborate with their Creative team in a fractional, advisory capacity. The ideal candidate will bring an external perspective and a keen editorial eye, backed by extensive experience in developing brand voices within the fashion, jewelry, beauty, or lifestyle sectors. The goal is to provide clearer ideas, enhance craft, and boost team confidence.

  • 10+ years in copywriting, editorial, or brand creative roles, including senior leadership of a brand's voice.
  • Proven experience mentoring and developing writers at different career stages.
  • Strong narrative instincts with the ability to build story arcs across campaigns, launches, and channels.
  • A sharp, generous editorial eye with feedback that is direct, specific, and actionable.
  • A portfolio showcasing exceptional writing, concepting, product storytelling, and brand-building work.
  • A strong grasp of fashion, retail, culture, and the customer, understanding the interplay between brand building and commercial results.
  • Experience in a fractional, consulting, or advisory capacity with a track record of driving impact without daily embedded involvement.
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed, build team trust, and maximize limited time together.
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to working alongside AI tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Fashion, jewelry, beauty, lifestyle, or editorial experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a fractional, consulting, or advisory capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a sounding board for the team's voice, pressure-testing its evolution across channels and markets to identify areas for sharper or more distinctive expression.
  • Bring an external perspective by sharing insights on fashion, culture, language, and media, and their implications for Mejuri's brand presence.
  • Partner with the team to shape the narrative direction for upcoming campaigns, collection launches, collaborations, and seasonal moments, ensuring cohesive storytelling from concept to execution.
  • Assist the team in translating brand and business priorities into clear messaging structures that link positioning to customer interests.
  • Advise on narratives and names for key collections, signature pieces, and launches, highlighting craft, materials, design, and wearability.
  • Coach writers on concept development from the brief, encouraging iteration to find strong creative routes before finalizing solutions.
  • Provide senior editorial review for high-visibility work across campaigns, site, CRM, social, and retail, pushing for integrated copy and visual concepts and offering clear direction for improvement.
  • Help the team balance brand and performance by integrating customer and performance insights with creative work, ensuring resonance without diluting the brand voice.
  • Conduct recurring working sessions with writers, offering candid feedback and building their capabilities in concepting, storytelling, editing, and voice.
  • Contribute to the development of voice guidelines, messaging frameworks, and naming principles to support the team between sessions.
  • Share perspectives with Creative Operations on briefing and review practices to enhance team efficiency and volume.
  • Adjust engagement cadence and focus based on business priorities, with potential for increased involvement during peak periods like BFCM and holidays.
