About The Position

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Edifecs Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Analyst Transaction Specialist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. This is a full-time, 100% U.S.-based remote position with a salary range of $85,389–$116,975. Candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. The specialist owns functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, and data validation rules to ensure accurate transaction processing and support business operations. The role interprets and troubleshoots healthcare transaction sets, analyzes SNIP compliance and partner-specific validation requirements, documents mappings and integration requirements, and works with business stakeholders to resolve issues and assess operational impacts. It also supports audit and compliance reviews and maintains data quality guardrails. The position collaborates with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, business teams, and integration specialists. Work includes supporting AS2, SFTP, and HTTPS flows; validating data exchanged with non-X.12 partners; identifying issues introduced by middleware or APIs; querying SQL transaction details; validating payloads, timestamps, statuses, and error flags; and reconciling differences between raw EDI and stored data. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be able to meet government security-investigation eligibility requirements. Applicants selected may be subject to background investigation, including criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness. Interviews are conducted on Microsoft Teams with the camera on, and applicants will be asked to provide a LinkedIn profile link.
