Why is this role important? We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Ecommerce Category Manager to support the optimization of the online category strategy for the Joe Fresh eCommerce business. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the digital assortment and drive smarter customer acquisition, stronger retention, and deeper engagement strategies. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Joe Fresh and Loblaw Digital to report on key category results and help turn insights into strategic opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a passion for ecommerce and fashion retail.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in retail buying or ecommerce category strategy.
  • Understanding of how to interpret financial data and sound understanding of digital retail math.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with the passion for staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Passionate about fashion and ecommerce.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Looker Studio or similar platforms is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing additional data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R Studio) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support in developing and executing short-term and long-term category strategies to deliver sales, margin, and inventory productivity targets, in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Lead the full year and periodic ecommerce sales forecast, with the ability to re-forecast based on category initiatives, promotional strategies, and evolving digital landscape.
  • Responsible for providing weekly/periodic/quarterly/annual data insights on sales, margin, and category performance against budget and forecast to support decision making and optimization opportunities.
  • Make recommendations on ecommerce promotional strategies based on category performance and manage ecommerce promotional calendar.
  • Support the category strategy on third-party marketplaces including assortment selection, merchandising, and promotional plan.
  • Partner with the Joe Fresh Category team to provide data insights and make recommendations to support and optimize the ecommerce category strategy.
  • Partner with Digital Experience team to provide data-backed insights to support optimizations in online merchandising, navigation, and product storytelling.
  • Partner with the digital marketing team to align category strategies with promotional campaigns, paid media efforts, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Support new growth opportunities for the ecommerce business and monitor performance against specific growth KPIs.
