About The Position

The Echo/Ultrasound technologist will work directly with radiologists and cardiologist to perform a variety of ultrasound procedures that require judgment and ingenuity while responding to any of the patient’s special, physical, emotional, spiritual and/or age-specific related needs. Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Program
RDCS Credential with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or RCS Credential with Cardiovascular Credentialing International. OR Registry eligible with the above organization and certification within 1 year of hire (new graduates)
CPR certification
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and physicians.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to a variety of people.
Ability to promote and work in a team setting.
Transthoracic, Stress, and Transesophageal experience
Ultrasound/Echo machine experience, GE and Philips
2D, MMode, Color Doppler, PW/CW, 3D proficient
Ability to problem solve and work independently
Computer/phone skills

Responsibilities

Performs quality ultrasound exams with the appropriate technical skills and according to the established procedure protocols.
Provides for appropriate patient care, safety, education, and a favorable customer service experience during procedures.
Maintains appropriate documentation of patient records especially in the Radiology Information System and PACS (computer systems) to meet operating standards, corporate compliance practices, and/or regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Presents appropriate filming and technical findings of ultrasound scans to the radiologist/cardiologist.
Collaborates and participates in department related projects and/or teams focused on improvement opportunities as needed.
Performs other related operational duties as needed including, but not limited to, transporting patients, office/clerical functions, equipment troubleshooting, maintaining supplies in rooms, and cleaning ultrasound equipment.
