About The Position

Day Kimball is hiring! We are seeking a skilled Echocardiographer to join our Ultrasound team. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures while working closely with a collaborative, patient-centered care team! Under the direction of the Cardiologist, Diagnostic imaging administration and/or Lead Ultrasonographer, the Echocardiographer performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in the application of non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for diagnosis of disease.

Requirements

  • Attended an accredited school for Echocardiography or have equivalent experience
  • Active ARDMS or CCI certification required and must be maintained.
  • CPR – Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required.
  • Use common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick and/or handicapped.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families with a caring attitude.
  • Evaluate information based on measurable and verifiable criteria.
  • Improvise standard procedures where needed.
  • Act quickly in an emergency.
  • Change from one duty to another frequently and follow instructions exactly.
  • Develop new and better techniques to keep the department up to date.
  • Accept and perform new procedures as they develop.
  • Be self-motivated with regard to increasing present level of understanding and knowledge of the field.
  • Perform portable examinations.
  • Work various days of the week and holidays as required.
  • Work without direct supervision within the guidelines established by the DI Administration.
  • High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years working in an Ultrasound environment preferred.
  • Experience with doppler, stress and trans-esophageal echocardiography and exams under the direction of the Senior Ultrasonographers and Lead Ultrasonographer.

Responsibilities

  • Move transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observe sound wave display on screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
  • Key test data and patient information into computer of U/S equipment to maintain record of test results.
  • Discuss test findings with the cardiologists.
  • Explain procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for exam.
  • Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic equipment to apply non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to patients for diagnosis of disease.
