About The Position

This role involves customer service in a retail store, with a specific focus on firearms. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering service questions, managing merchandise pricing and stocking, assisting with freight and inventory counts, and ensuring compliance with ATF and internal audit standards. A key part of the role is training other staff on firearms transaction regulations and procedures, including the A&D log, 4473 forms, multiple sales recording, corrections, identification requirements, sale refusals, and identifying straw sales.

Requirements

• Good understanding of A&D log requirements and best practices.
• Knowledge of filing denied and no transfer 4473s.
• Knowledge of standardized filing of completed 4473s.
• Understanding of what an AR is and how a multiple sale is recorded.
• Knowledge of multiple handgun sales and proper recording.
• Understanding of how to properly make corrections on a 4473 by employees and customers.
• Knowledge of acceptable forms of identification customers can use.
• Understanding of when a sale should be refused.
• Knowledge of what constitutes a “Straw Sale” and how to complete.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with customer service questions.

• Stock and face merchandise on shelves.
• Assist in receiving freight and organizing incoming products.
• Assist in cycle counts.
• Keep store prepared for ATF and/or internal audits.
• Assist in training other staff on A&D log requirements, 4473 filing, multiple handgun sales recording, corrections on 4473s, acceptable forms of identification, sale refusal criteria, and identifying straw sales.
