About The Position

Chevron is a leading integrated energy company focused on providing affordable, reliable, and cleaner energy. For the 2026-2027 recruiting season, Chevron is seeking Earth Science Interns in Houston, Texas. Earth Scientists at Chevron work in multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to exploration, development, reservoir characterization, and well operations. Interns will be assigned to projects that add value to Chevron, based on their academic background, experience, and career goals, with guidance from a supervisor and technical mentor. The internship is designed for students to develop technical skills in geoscience, geophysics, and petrophysics.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctorate Thesis program or with less than 2 years post-graduate degree experience in geology, geophysics, geological engineering, or related fields.
  • Professional/academic focus in a technical area aligned with Chevron’s business needs.
  • Strong academic performance in core programs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Position may require driving on a routine basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with industry workflows for subsurface characterization.
  • Participation in an energy industry or sponsored university research project.
  • Practical experience with geoscience coding, data science, and/or machine learning.
