Chevron is seeking entry-level Earth Scientists for the 2026-2027 recruiting season. Earth Scientists at Chevron work in multi-disciplinary teams, developing technical skills in geoscience, geophysics, and petrophysics. Assignments focus on exploration, development, reservoir characterization, and well operations. Entry-level scientists will contribute value to Chevron based on their academic background, experience, and career goals, with guidance from a supervisor and technical mentor. Chevron offers a competency-based employee development program for recent graduates, typically including two to three technical assignments in the first 5 years, supported by training, mentoring, and on-the-job experience. Mobility is encouraged, with opportunities to work in domestic upstream operations, global exploration, or research-focused Centers of Excellence (COE). Early career roles may involve exploration, appraisal, asset development, and technology assignments. The role involves solving challenging problems using cutting-edge digital technologies. Opportunities for overseas assignments may arise after ten or more years of experience. Other potential roles include well-site operations, reservoir modeling, portfolio management, subsurface data science, technology deployment, technical team leadership, and specialized positions like stratigrapher, structural geologist, geophysicist, petrophysicist, basin analyst, and earth modeler.
