About The Position

Early Learning Corps is hiring Early Learning Tutors to support preschool students in pre-kindergarten classrooms. Working alongside a teacher, tutors deliver proven learning activities that help children develop early literacy and math skills, build confidence, and cultivate a love of learning. Tutors receive training and ongoing coaching.

Positions are for the 2026–27 school year, running January 2027 through June 2027. Full-time positions are 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks with holidays or school release days. Daytime schedules correspond with school start and end times, Monday through Friday, with no weekend work. Part-time positions are also available at 25 and 15 hours per week.

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks at $17.76 per hour served. Benefits include individual health insurance with the monthly premium fully covered, a member assistance program, education benefits of up to $2,817.14 for college tuition or student loans, federal student loan forbearance and interest repayment, and time accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Tutors aged 55 or older may transfer the education award to a qualified family member.

Requirements

• Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Be able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Have basic computer skills, such as using email and navigating online.
• Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent by the time service begins.
• Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.

• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software.
