About The Position

Jesuit Social Services is seeking an Early Intervention Officer for its Early Intervention Officers in Schools (EIOS) program, funded by the Department of Education and delivered in partnership with other organisations across Northwestern Victoria. The program places officers in schools to support children and young people at risk of, or in contact with, the youth justice system. Its aims include helping students stay engaged in education, improve attendance, build resilience and prosocial behaviours, develop a sense of belonging and strengthen peer relationships. It also works to encourage positive decision-making, reduce classroom disruption and school suspensions or expulsions, and reduce the risk of offending. The role is co-located at Roxburgh College and the Jesuit Social Services office in Brunswick. The officer provides tailored, individual case management to children and young people, addressing complex and intersecting needs and supporting their engagement in education and positive life outcomes. The position also involves building collaborative relationships with school staff and providing secondary consultation and expert guidance to help schools respond effectively to the challenges faced by vulnerable young people. The position is currently 0.7 FTE and is due to expand to 1.0 FTE from January 2027. The advertised pro-rata salary range is $92,279–$99,294.
