Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com. We are currently looking for an E&I Specialist/ Sr E&I Specialist for our Montz, LA office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible for the testing and maintenance of the instrument and electrical equipment of reciprocating engines and compressors, gas fired turbines and compressors, auxiliary equipment, and other related Gulf South assets. Required to comply with all DOT, OSHA and Environmental rules and regulations. Occasionally required to do unscheduled or emergency work. Responsible to maintain all tools and equipment assigned to this position. Be an advocate of safe work practices and be willing to serve as the lead on projects. Be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Be able to meet minimum physical and educational standards established by the company. This position will also be responsible for environmental, health and safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system, along with recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, performing emergency response procedures, performing regulatory compliance procedures as well as performing repairs. This person will regularly lead projects and have responsibility as well as the authority to make decisions about equipment and repairs. This person will be required to participate in the On Call duties of the Area and respond to after hour “callouts”. This candidate shall demonstrate an ongoing proficiency in Leadership and Interpersonal Skills. Responsibilities also include compliance documentation for assigned area and the successful completion of all the Operator Qualification tasks assigned specifically for this position. This position will be located at our Montz Compressor Station in Montz, Louisiana. Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Friday, however, this position is subject to occasional after hours as well as off day callouts and schedule adjustments will be mandatory. This position's primary area of responsibility will be at our Montz Compressor Station and the successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of the Montz Compressor Station to respond to call outs expediently.

Requirements

  • Instrument and Electrical maintenance experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects
  • Experience with Microsoft programs
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns
  • Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
  • Ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle
  • Strong commitment to personal and Team safety
  • Must live within 30 miles of facility.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 4 (plus) years of natural gas operations and maintenance experience
  • More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems and DOT 192 knowledge
  • Associate Degree or Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an Institution Accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
  • Technical School/College
