About The Position

We are looking for a Senior I&E Project Specialist to join the Catalyst team in McIntyre, GA. BASF’s Catalyst division is the global market leader in catalyst technologies, developing and producing mobile emissions catalysts, process catalysts, and offering precious metals trading, recycling, and related products and services. This role involves leading and providing technical support for capital and expense projects related to instrumentation and process controls at the Edgar site in McIntyre, GA. The specialist will serve as a subject matter expert for issues concerning instrumentation, process automation, electrical safe work permitting, and digitalization support.

Requirements

  • Have a 2-year degree in Industrial Control System, or similar; or 7+ years equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience as a capital project manager from FEED to project completion and closure.
  • Have experience with Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley) hardware and software.
  • Experienced with Intouch Aveva applications, and interfacing with thin clients and thin client servers.
  • Possess experience working closely with reliability engineering to identify obsolete controls software and hardware.
  • Have knowledge in commissioning and decommissioning of low voltage electrical systems, as well as instrumentation and HMIs.
  • Hold MSHA/LOTO experience.
  • Have experience with internal and external interactions, specifically automation vendors and the ability to lead projects from conception to completion.
  • Hold knowledge of industrial electrical equipment, network design requirements and optic fiber specifications.
  • Possess an understanding of NFPA70E.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and providing technical support for capital and expense projects associated with instrumentation and process controls to the Edgar site in McIntyre, GA.
  • Subject matter expert for issues associated with instrumentation, process automation, electrical safe work permitting, and digitalization support.
  • Provides knowledge and expertise in troubleshooting Rockwell Automation hardware and software applications.
  • Diagnose complex issues within Edgar sites process network, to include PLC communications issue between I/O servers, Thin Clients, Thin Client Servers.
  • Creating and maintaining control systems that meet production requirements.
  • Performing tasks as necessary to achieve functionality and safety obligations.
  • Provides high level expertise in maximizing system capabilities that keeps Edgar site up to date on the latest software revisions and compatibility with multiple operating PCs in 3 controls rooms throughout the plant.
