As an e-Filing Specialist, you will be responsible for electronically filing documents in state and federal courts. In this position, you will be part of a regional and national docketing team that provides support to the firm’s Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle and other domestic offices. Daily Schedule: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm, Pacific Time

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience at a large law firm in a litigation support role
  • Experience and subject matter expertise on the filing requirements for California federal and state courts
  • Proficiency with e-Filing documents in state and federal courts
  • Ability to research and apply jurisdiction-specific rules and procedures
  • Attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines
  • Time management and ability to multitask
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to interpret filing rules and respond to procedural changes
  • Proficiency with common e-filing platforms (e.g., CM/ECF for federal courts, California State Court e-Filing platforms)
  • The ability to interpret and analyze information
  • Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) required

Responsibilities

  • Know applicable court rules on how to electronically file documents in federal court using the cm/ecf system. When needed, file documents electronically after hours.
  • Be able to file documents in State and appellate courts.
  • Have subject matter expertise on the requirements to e-File documents in federal and state courts across the country.
  • Act as a liaison between the courts and the firm’s attorneys on procedural and technical matters.
  • Respond to procedural inquiries from attorneys.
  • Know how to research court case information to maintain an accurate record.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the regional coordinator and the Director and Managing Attorney, Docket.
  • Serve as a back-up for overflow docketing requests, when not e-Filing.
