About The Position

Village Retail is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven E-Commerce Manager to own and lead our online retail operations. This is a full-time remote role for a hands-on professional who brings deep fluency across every dimension of modern e-commerce, from Shopify store management and vendor relations to email automation, paid advertising, and social commerce. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-directed operator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, holds themselves to an exceptionally high standard, and understands that every customer touchpoint is a direct reflection of our brand. Camera-ready professionalism and consistent availability during scheduled hours are required.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on e-commerce management experience with demonstrated results
  • Expert-level Shopify proficiency including product management, app configuration, and reporting
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel retail operations and online-to-offline integration
  • Advanced Klaviyo expertise including flow building, audience segmentation, and performance reporting
  • Strong email copywriting ability and design sensibility
  • Demonstrated ability to independently set up, manage, and optimize Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns
  • Solid working knowledge of SEO best practices and their application across product pages and collections
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics 4 for performance tracking and reporting
  • Proven experience managing vendor or supplier relationships in a retail or e-commerce context
  • Strong communication skills for ongoing vendor coordination and issue resolution
  • Ability to write compelling, SEO-optimized product descriptions at scale
  • Meticulous attention to detail in maintaining accurate and consistent product catalogs
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate performance insights into action
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience with project management tools including Asana, Monday.com, or Notion
  • Experience with AI tools in a professional e-commerce setting
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a high standard for how the storefront is presented to customers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously without losing accuracy or quality
  • Self-directed and capable of working independently with minimal oversight in a fully remote environment
  • Camera-ready and consistently available during all scheduled work hours
  • A minimum of three verifiable professional references is required; candidates without references will not be considered

Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day Shopify storefront operations including product uploads, inventory management, pricing updates, and order processing
  • Optimize product pages for conversion through compelling imagery, descriptions, variant structuring, and cross-selling strategies
  • Configure and maintain Shopify apps and integrations including inventory sync, shipping, email marketing, analytics, and POS
  • Monitor site uptime, troubleshoot issues promptly, and coordinate with developers on technical updates
  • Manage checkout optimization, discount codes, gift cards, and promotional campaign execution
  • Ensure mobile responsiveness, site speed, and user experience consistently meet best-in-class standards
  • Sync inventory and sales data between online and physical retail locations
  • Keep the storefront current with new arrivals, seasonal content, promotions, and accurate product information at all times
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure product descriptions, pricing, imagery, and inventory are accurate and consistent
  • Maintain overall site integrity by removing discontinued products, resolving broken links, and enforcing consistent formatting across all pages
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all vendors selling through Village Retail's e-commerce channels
  • Onboard new vendors to the platform, coordinating product setup, imagery standards, pricing, and inventory processes
  • Communicate proactively with vendors regarding inventory levels, restocking needs, and sales performance
  • Plan and coordinate product launches and promotional campaigns in collaboration with vendor partners
  • Track and analyze vendor performance metrics including sell-through rates, return rates, and customer feedback
  • Manage vendor expectations and resolve issues related to online orders, fulfillment, and customer inquiries with professionalism
  • Maintain accurate vendor records, product information, and pricing across all online channels
  • Negotiate terms for online exclusives, promotional placements, and featured opportunities
  • Ensure all vendors meet quality standards for product photography, descriptions, and packaging
  • Manage social commerce integrations across Instagram Shopping, Facebook Shops, and emerging platforms
  • Develop and oversee influencer and creator partnership programs with clearly defined deliverables and performance benchmarks
  • Create and distribute affiliate links, promo codes, and UTM parameters for accurate campaign attribution
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard micro-influencers and content creators aligned with Village Retail's mission and brand values
  • Track influencer and affiliate performance and calculate ROI across all campaigns
  • Own and execute the full email marketing strategy using Klaviyo
  • Build, segment, and maintain email lists using advanced segmentation strategies to deliver targeted, high-performing campaigns
  • Design, build, and deploy weekly newsletters featuring new arrivals, vendor spotlights, and promotional content
  • Create and continuously optimize automated email flows including welcome series, abandoned cart recovery, post-purchase follow-up, win-back campaigns, and back-in-stock notifications
  • Implement and manage SMS marketing campaigns integrated with the overall email strategy
  • A/B test subject lines, content, send times, and calls to action to maximize performance
  • Monitor email deliverability and maintain a healthy sender reputation
  • Execute a comprehensive SEO strategy to increase organic traffic and search visibility across traditional and AI-powered search platforms
  • Conduct keyword research for product pages, collections, and content to inform optimization priorities
  • Optimize on-page elements including title tags, meta descriptions, header tags, and image alt text across the storefront
  • Monitor and improve site speed and mobile usability on an ongoing basis
  • Track keyword rankings and organic traffic performance using SEMrush, Ahrefs, or comparable tools
  • Monitor Google Search Console for technical issues and leverage search performance data to inform strategy
  • Implement and maintain Schema.org structured data markup to support rich results in traditional search and help AI engines accurately understand products, pricing, reviews, and availability
  • Apply Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) strategies to ensure brand and product visibility in AI-generated search responses across platforms including Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity
  • Develop and optimize FAQ content, buying guides, and conversational content that mirrors how users prompt AI tools, increasing the likelihood of appearing in generated responses
  • Build topical authority through long-form content including product tutorials, trend reports, and expert guides that support both traditional rankings and AI visibility
  • Optimize product content for voice search by structuring responses to answer specific, conversational queries clearly and concisely
  • Set up and manage Google Analytics 4 including event tracking and full e-commerce reporting
  • Create, manage, and optimize Google Ads campaigns including Shopping, Search, and Performance Max
  • Maintain and troubleshoot the Google Merchant Center product feed, resolving product disapprovals promptly
  • Manage Meta advertising campaigns across Facebook and Instagram with a focus on performance and return
  • Implement and maintain conversion tracking via Google Tag Manager
  • Monitor and optimize ROAS and customer acquisition costs on an ongoing basis
  • Build performance dashboards and deliver clear weekly and monthly reporting to leadership
  • Monitor customer feedback channels and respond to e-commerce-related inquiries with professionalism and timeliness
  • Analyze customer behavior data to identify friction points and prioritize optimization opportunities
  • Coordinate with fulfillment partners to ensure orders ship within established SLA standards
  • Manage returns and exchanges for online orders efficiently and in alignment with company policy
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer retention and repeat purchase rates
