About The Position

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., a Caterpillar dealership serving Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and western Maryland, is seeking a motivated self-starter to join its team as a Gas Engine Test Technician. The position operates test machines to test gas engines, troubleshoots abnormalities, and disassembles and reassembles complex engines and assemblies. The technician uses precision measuring devices to assemble and test products, ensures test equipment is calibrated and accurate, and follows standard work instructions. The role also involves working with customers during witnessed in-use testing, explaining results, and ensuring customer testing requests are met or exceeded. The technician contributes to root-cause corrective action and continuous improvement.

Requirements

College or university degree in a related discipline.
Extensive mechanical background of 10 or more years.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Good computer skills and knowledge of common software packages.
Ability to work with diverse teams of employees and customers.

Responsibilities

Operate test machines to test gas engines.
Troubleshoot abnormalities encountered during the test process and provide resolutions.
Disassemble and reassemble complex gas engines and assemblies.
Use precision measuring devices to assemble and test final products.
Meet with customers, provide opportunities to witness in-use testing, and explain test results.
Ensure customer requests for testing are met or exceeded.
Ensure equipment calibration and verify accuracy.
Follow standard work document instructions.
Drive root-cause corrective action and continuous improvement.
