About The Position
Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., the local Caterpillar dealership serving Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and western Maryland, is seeking a motivated self-starter to join its team as a Gas Engine Test Technician. The technician operates test machines to test gas engines, troubleshoots abnormalities, and disassembles and reassembles complex engines and assemblies. The role also involves using precision measuring devices, supporting customer-witnessed testing, verifying equipment calibration, following standard work instructions, and driving corrective action and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- College or university degree in a related discipline.
- Extensive mechanical background with 10 or more years of experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
- Good computer skills and knowledge of common software packages.
- Ability to work with diverse teams of employees and customers.
Responsibilities
- Operate test machines to test gas engines.
- Troubleshoot abnormalities encountered during testing and provide resolutions.
- Disassemble and reassemble complex gas engines and assemblies.
- Use precision measuring devices to assemble and test final products.
- Meet with customers, provide opportunities to witness in-use testing, and explain test results.
- Ensure customer testing requests are met or exceeded.
- Ensure equipment calibration and verify accuracy.
- Follow standard work document instructions.
- Drive root cause corrective action and continuous improvement.
