As a Dynamic Systems and Servo Analysis Researcher, you will help advance precision-motion technologies used in ASML’s lithography systems. Working within Mechanical Development, you will model structural dynamics, servo behavior, and multidisciplinary system performance to evaluate emerging concepts and guide technology-development decisions. You will connect mechanical, electrical, actuator, sensor, and control-system behavior through modeling and simulation, helping researchers understand performance limits, manage technical risks, and identify promising technology directions. You will also strengthen modeling methods and reusable research capabilities across ASML. You will lead focused modeling and analysis activities for advanced precision-motion and mechatronic systems, choose appropriate approaches and modeling fidelity for research questions, and translate complex results into practical technical recommendations. The role involves developing dynamic, finite element, reduced-order, and system-level models; integrating structural models with actuators, sensors, drive electronics, control loops, disturbances, and representative motion profiles; and analyzing system dynamics, performance, stability, and limitations. You will document assumptions and uncertainties, validate predictions, and communicate recommendations to technical and multidisciplinary audiences. The position is on-site and requires in-person collaboration, laboratory activities, training, and meetings. Flexible workplace arrangements may be available under company policy. Domestic or international travel may be required based on business needs. The role may require access to controlled technology and compliance with applicable export-control requirements. There may be exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage, and currents.
