About The Position

Third Future Schools, a growing network of charter schools, is seeking a DYAD Foreign Language Consultant for Westlawn Elementary in Texarkana, TX. This role will lead engaging elective classes for students as part of the DYAD Electives program. DYAD Electives is an experiential learning model designed to foster critical thinking, communication, creativity, and other 21st-century skills through hands-on experiences. Students participate in elective courses that may include technology, fitness, arts, and other enrichment activities. The DYAD program connects classroom learning with community-based expertise, bringing individuals with real-world knowledge to provide meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. The Foreign Language Consultant will provide an experience through their expertise in foreign languages, helping students develop skills such as communication, problem-solving, and cultural understanding through engaging language-based activities.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, structured, and experience-based instruction in foreign language.
  • Develop and provide their own curriculum aligned to the elective they teach.
  • Independently plan, lead, and manage a class that reflects both their expertise and the expectations of the DYAD program.
  • Create a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
  • Actively teach, monitor, and engage students throughout the class period.
  • Maintain strong classroom management and uphold school expectations.
  • Ensure students are participating in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Communicate professionally with campus staff and leadership.
  • Be prepared, consistent, and dependable in daily instruction.
  • Use their expertise to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.
  • Contribute positively to the culture of the school and the integrity of the DYAD program.
  • Create opportunities for parents and families to see and celebrate what students have accomplished through language showcases, presentations, displays, or other demonstrations of learning.
