DVM Student Externship - Pender Veterinary Clinic
About The Position
Pender Veterinary Clinic is seeking 1st through 4th year veterinary students for an externship opportunity. This is a chance to enhance your education through real-world experience in a progressive, fast-paced mixed animal practice. We serve the larger community and offer comprehensive services for both large and small animals. The large animal practice includes work with feedlots, cow/calf operations, swine, small ruminants, and equines, with services like pregnancy checking, ultrasound, bull fertility exams, and calving season support. The small animal practice focuses on examinations, dentals, and basic surgeries. Our clinic is located in Pender, Nebraska, with a satellite clinic in Emerson, Nebraska. We are looking for students who are compassionate, team players, strong communicators, and enjoy a rural setting working with diverse animal populations.
Requirements
- Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
- Compassionate, Team Player and Strong Communicator.

Responsibilities
- Enhance education through real-world experiences in a mixed animal practice.
- Gain experience in both large and small animal care.
- Participate in services such as Preventative Care, Surgery, Urgent Care, Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital Radiology, and Ultrasonography.
- Assist with large animal work including feedlot, cow/calf, swine, small ruminant, and equine cases.
- Support small animal practice including examinations, dentals, and basic surgeries.
