About The Position
Pender Veterinary Clinic is seeking compassionate, team-oriented, and communicative 1st through 4th-year veterinary students for an externship opportunity. This externship is designed to enhance a student's education through real-world experiences in a mixed animal practice. The clinic has served the community for over fifty years, offering comprehensive care for both small and large animals, including preventative and urgent care, surgery, dentistry, boarding, radiology, ultrasound, laboratory analysis, cow/calf and feedlot services, swine, and equine care. Pender and Emerson are located in Northeast Nebraska, offering small-town charm with proximity to larger communities for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
Requirements
- Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.

Responsibilities
- Enhance education through real-world experiences in a mixed animal practice.
- Provide comprehensive care to small animal patients including preventative and urgent care, surgery, dentistry, and boarding.
- Assist with in-house diagnostics such as radiology, ultrasound, and laboratory analysis.
- Work with cow/calf and feedlot animals for pregnancy exams, ultrasounds, herd health, surgeries, and processing.
- Provide care for swine and equine patients.
