About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 with a mandate to provide meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians, primarily in security guard and related services. CGL serves Central and Southwestern Ontario with customized security solutions for both private and public sector clients, including uniformed guards, mobile response, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an existing vacancy for a Duty Operator in Oakville. The role is vital in maintaining operational excellence and delivering outstanding service, requiring a commitment to serving client and employee needs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education and/or equivalent.
  • Intermediary to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • 5 years of Canadian residency for security clearance.
  • Work experience in scheduling, customer service, or dispatching fields.
  • The ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Flexibility to cover a variety of shifts if required, including weekends.
  • Highly reliable.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Professionalism in dress, deportment, and performance.

Nice To Haves

  • Understand the principles and framework of the security industry.
  • Experience in contract management and record-keeping procedures.
