About The Position

Shirley Contracting is hiring a full-time, year-round Dump Truck Driver for its Richmond, New Kent, or Chesterfield, Virginia locations. The driver will safely operate a commercial vehicle throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, including in heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas. The role also involves vehicle inspections and upkeep, maintaining mileage logs and work tickets, following DOT requirements and company health and safety policies, and performing manual labor related to project support. The schedule starts at 6:00 AM; overtime and weekend work may be required. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Requirements

Class B CDL.
Manual transmission experience or ability is required.
Clean driving record, with no major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents in the last seven years.
Pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
Be willing to perform manual labor related tasks to support projects.
Be at least 18 years old.
Be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.

Responsibilities

Safely operate and maneuver a commercial vehicle in heavy traffic, at construction sites, and in tight areas throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Follow Department of Transportation rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain inspection reports.
Maintain daily mileage logs and work tickets.
Keep assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness.
Meet the company’s health and safety culture, policies, and requirements.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
Perform manual labor related tasks to support projects.
