About The Position

Abernethy Contracting is seeking a Dump Truck Driver to work in Charlotte and surrounding areas. The role involves hauling material and adapting to changing work sites while prioritizing safety. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, teamwork, and working toward common goals.

The anticipated start date is Monday, January 4, 2027. The driver will follow DOT regulations and safety protocols, inspect and maintain the truck, track and document activities, and use a mobile phone with GPS. The role also requires effective communication, following supervisor direction, and treating coworkers, subcontractors, and customers respectfully and professionally.

Abernethy Contracting provides sitework and development services throughout the greater Charlotte region of the Carolinas. The company describes a three-generation family business focused on quality, care, and attention throughout its work.

Requirements

• Three to five years of dump truck driving experience; construction experience is a plus.
• Class A or Class B driver's license.
• DOT Medical Card.
• Ability to pass Clearing House screening.
• Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol screening.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Reliable transportation.
• Seven-day availability if needed.
