About The Position

This role is for a Dual Rate Officer/Shift Manager in the Security Department. The position involves direct supervision of security employees, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and laws. Key duties include interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and problem resolution for staff. The role also requires knowledge of casino procedures, escort duties, handling table fills, credits, and markers, patrolling the property, maintaining logs, and ensuring a positive guest experience. The Shift Manager will also direct investigations, document incidents, enforce policies, and train security officers.

Requirements

  • Must possess Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Must be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to perform regularly required duties of this job, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms to use hands to handle or feel.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • Must be able to remain alert and focused while listening to the normal noise of the casino such as the noise from the slot machines and the music playing throughout the casino.
  • Must be able to withstand a smoking environment.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards, which may be established by Bally’s Shreveport Casino from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  • Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to Bally’s Shreveport Casino Attendance Policy.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property. This includes all shifts, weekends, and holiday periods.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises employees in the Security Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Must have knowledge of all cards and dice procedures.
  • Responsible for escort duties.
  • Will handle table fills, credits and markers.
  • Required to patrol the casino property and be alert of all happenings.
  • Must keep daily logs accurately and efficiently.
  • Must exhibit a friendly disposition with all guests.
  • Must smile and great every guest as they arrive on the property and/or enter the casino.
  • Must welcome the guest back to the casino, after the guest has departed and returned.
  • Directs and oversees all investigations.
  • Ensures that all incidents are documented.
  • Enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for training security officers.
