About The Position

This role directly supervises employees in the Security Department, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The position requires knowledge of all cards and dice procedures, escort duties, and handling table fills, credits, and markers. The officer is required to patrol the casino property, be alert to all happenings, and keep daily logs accurately and efficiently. A friendly disposition with all guests is essential, including smiling and greeting guests upon arrival and return. The role also directs and oversees all investigations, ensures all incidents are documented, and enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures. Training security officers is also a key responsibility. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Must be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to perform regularly required duties of this job, stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms to use hands to handle or feel.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

  • Enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for training security officers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
