About The Position

This role involves two primary functions: Dealer and Supervisor. As a Dealer, the focus is on creating an entertaining environment for guests by providing courteous, friendly, and prompt service at table games. As a Supervisor, the role entails overseeing table game operations during an assigned shift, with an emphasis on guest service, asset security, and employee motivation and coaching.

Requirements

  • At least six (6) months dealing experience is required and/or successful completion of dealer school or program at an accredited institution.
  • Must possess strong money handling and documentation skills.
  • Must have knowledge of casino rules, procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Table games.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team across departments and levels of management.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Knowledge of card games.
  • Basic knowledge of other games and services offered at property.
  • Knowledge of department policies and procedures, including those pertaining to Federal and Regulatory laws and guidelines.
  • Manual dexterity to handle paperwork, operate computers, and other Pit equipment.

  • High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create an entertainment environment for all guests.
  • Provide courteous, friendly, and prompt service in dealing table games.
  • Supervise the operations of table games on an assigned shift.
  • Place special emphasis on guest service, security of Horseshoe Casino & Hotel’s assets and positive employee motivation and coaching.
  • Display a working knowledge of all table games, house rules, counting methods and procedures covering each.
  • Assure that all coin and check racks are filled at all times.
  • Settle disputes that arise from guests in the Table Games area, referring those that are very difficult to the Casino Manager – Table Games or Director Table Games.
  • Assure guest development by interacting with guests, modeling interactive skills with guests and fellow employees, and making comp decisions.
  • Remain alert to any unusual or questionable activities being displayed by any Table Games employee or gaming guest and report any situations to assigned superior.
  • Observe problems or differences between Table Games employees and gaming guests and provide assistance if necessary.
  • Recommend changes in department including hiring, promotion, demotion and termination; recommend wage and salary changes for personnel within established limits.
  • Proactively anticipate customer needs.
  • Familiarize themselves with all guests’ names and personal facts.
  • Provide chips for guests.
  • Exercise appropriate discretion in identifying communications of special promotions to customers.
  • Coordinate with Casino Operations supervisor and Security to detect and prevent attempts to cheat and to identify floor irregularities to a Casino Operations Supervisor, Lead Shift Supervisor, or Casino Manager.
  • Act as a role model and present oneself as a credit to Caesars and encourage others to do the same.
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Bend, crouch, kneel, twist, lift and work at a desk when performing Pit Clerk functions.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Acknowledge, greet, and converse in English with customers.
  • Operate a typewriter, computer, telephone, ten key adding machine, and calculator, photocopy machine and fax machine.
  • Lift, pull, push or carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Handle paperwork, operate computers, and other Pit equipment.
  • Continuously maneuver around Pit area and throughout the hotel/casino property.
  • Tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust when on casino floor.
