About The Position

Presque Isle Downs & Casino is seeking a Table Games Dual Rate Dealer/Floor Supervisor. This role involves implementing procedures to ensure adherence to internal controls, standard operating procedures, and PA Gaming Control Board regulations. The position safeguards company assets, focuses on guest service, monitors dealer performance, and protects the game. This job title may also be identified as a Boxperson. The Dual Rated Dealer/Floor Supervisor may perform the duties of the Floor Supervisor as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals and internal controls.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical theory.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
  • Oversees daily supervision and operation of all table games in assigned area.
  • Ensures Dealers carry out duties in accordance with all applicable regulations.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years as a multiple game dealer or related supervisory experience in table games.
  • Must complete CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) training or be already certified to be employed as a table games dealer.
  • PGCB requirement - Minimum of six months dealing experience at Presque Isle Downs or two years’ experience as a dealer or table games supervisor within the last ten years.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand (80% of the time).
  • Candidate must also speak, hear, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee may occasionally be required to sit.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close and distance vision, color and depth perception, and, peripheral vision.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises dealers as well as the operation and conduct of any table games to which candidate is assigned.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of bankrolls.
  • Monitors all procedures governing the opening and closing of games and shift changes.
  • Supervises the performance of dealers to ensure efficient gaming operations during a shift.
  • Completes customer ratings necessary to track pertinent gaming data relevant to the patron’s gaming profiles.
  • Ensures that games are supplied with adequate and operable equipment.
  • Ensures that all Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations, internal controls, Title 31 compliance and standard operating procedures are adhered to.
  • Promotes positive customer and employee relations, and is held accountable to ensure that the integrity of the game is protected at all times.
  • Reports violations of approved standard operating procedures, internal controls and regulations of the PA Gaming Control Board to the Pit Manager or higher.
  • Directly responsible for notifying the Floor Supervisor standing floor at the craps game about the accuracy of pay-offs, currency changes, color changes, betting minimums/maximums and the regulations, internal controls and standard operating procedures are being adhered to by the dealers that are assigned to the game.
  • As part of ensuring the integrity of the game, candidate will monitor that the dealers verbally announce (book) all wagers on the game not placed by the players.
  • Verifies the accuracy of the currency to gaming chips conversions.
  • Inspects gaming equipment in use.
  • Notifies the Pit Manager of any and all irregularities or suspicious activity on the game.
  • Monitors compliance of all approved policies and procedures and reports deviations to the Pit Manager if observed.
  • Responsible for the operation and conduct of a particular game.
  • Quickly tabulates the numeric value of playing card totals, dice throws, etc. Inspects and shuffles 6 to 8 decks of cards in a timely manner or operates an automatic shuffling device. Must be proficient at shuffling and pitching cards.
  • Audibly announces all hand totals, currency conversions to gaming chips, color changes, and all other pertinent information that transpires during the course of gaming activity.
  • Maintains and protects the bankroll at all times.
  • Handles gaming chips in order to pay and take in a proficient manner.
  • Follows regulations, policies and procedures in the performance of duties.
  • Provides quality customer service to all guests.
