About The Position

Teach an English dual credit course at Lake Zurich High School. The adjunct must currently be or become an English teacher at Lake Zurich High School and meet the stated graduate-level subject-credit requirements. The position requires eligibility to work with secondary and post-secondary students in person at assigned locations and virtually, in compliance with applicable laws and school district policies. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a post-offer fingerprint-based criminal history records check, employment history review, and any other required screening or clearances. Continued employment depends on maintaining eligibility and clearances. The position is part-time, with a stated workload of five hours per week. Salaries are paid through the high school district; the College of Lake County may provide stipends for specific professional development activities.

Requirements

• Currently teach or be willing to teach English at Lake Zurich High School.
• Hold a master's degree in any field and have 18 graduate semester hours or equivalent in English, Reading, Literacy, Composition, Literature, Creative Writing, or Linguistics; alternatively, have a master's degree in Secondary Education with 18 graduate semester hours in one of those areas.
• Possess and maintain eligibility to work with secondary and post-secondary students in person at assigned work locations and virtually, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Successfully complete the required post-offer fingerprint-based criminal history records check, employment history review, and any other screening or clearance requirements; maintain eligibility and clearances throughout employment.
