DSP Independent Contractor Concord NC (SP)
About The Position
InReach is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) as an Independent Contractor for a young male individual with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities in the Concord, NC area. This role involves providing Community Living and Support Services for approximately 36 hours per week. The position requires assisting with personal needs and being comfortable with pets in the home. The DSP will provide instruction and assistance in home living environments, help the individual identify and acquire valued social roles, facilitate community integration, and help the individual develop healthy social habits. Responsibilities also include dispensing medication and monitoring dosages, and transporting/accompanying the individual to day programs, work sites, and community activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
- Must be able to handle some personal needs
- Must be able to handle pets in the home
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population
