DSP Independent Contractor in Matthews (LL)
About The Position
InReach is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) as Independent Contractors to provide companionship, care, and support to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This specific role involves providing Community Networking Services for a female individual with developmental disabilities in the Matthews, NC area. The position requires approximately 10 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours later. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 10 am to noon, and is flexible. The DSP will assist with personal needs and must be comfortable with pets in the home.
Requirements
- High school diploma (or GED)
- Valid driver's license
- Successfully pass a drug screen and background check
- Must be able to handle personal needs
- Must be comfortable with pets in the home
Nice To Haves
- One to two years of experience with the I/DD population
Responsibilities
- Instruction and assistance in home living environments.
- Help individual identify and acquire valued social roles.
- Facilitate community integration.
- Help individual develop healthy social habits.
- Dispense medication and monitoring dosages.
- Transport and accompany individual to and from day programs, work sites, and community activities.
- Provide Community Networking Services.
