About The Position

At Oshkosh, the Vehicle Dynamics & MBD Intern assists the modeling and simulation engineering team with multibody dynamics (MBD) and vehicle dynamics analysis. The intern uses advanced simulation tools to assess and optimize the performance of Oshkosh products, supporting development of vehicle chassis, suspension, steering, brakes, and other vehicle systems. The role includes completing discrete MBD modeling tasks, analyzing simulation results, preparing technical reports, and providing simulation-based feedback to the product development team. The position is intended for a student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate engineering degree who is willing to work in Oshkosh during the summer.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in Oshkosh during the summer.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on vehicle experience, such as Formula SAE or Baja SAE.
  • Vehicle dynamics and/or mechanical engineering simulation experience.
  • Software development and/or data processing experience.
  • Knowledge of Adams/View, Adams/Car, and Python programming or similar languages.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and use modeling and simulation software, including Adams/View and Adams/Car, to support development of vehicle chassis, suspension, steering, brakes, and other vehicle systems.
  • Use and develop custom software tools to process, analyze, and automate simulations.
  • Perform model validation and correlation using available data to assess model accuracy.
