About The Position
United Drywall and Contracting is seeking motivated, detail-oriented Drywall Punch Techs to join its construction team. The role involves inspecting and finishing drywall installations, correcting imperfections, smoothing surfaces, and preparing walls for final finishes while meeting high-quality standards. Work may span commercial buildings, residential remodels, and restoration projects. The position supports the creation of safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing spaces and offers opportunities to develop skills across multiple construction disciplines in a collaborative environment emphasizing safety, craftsmanship, and excellence.
Requirements
- Prior construction-site experience with drywall installation or finishing.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting schematics.
- Bilingual ability is preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes.
- Hands-on experience in plastering, taping, sanding, and painting.
- Skills in carpentry, including framing and trim; masonry; tile laying; flooring installation; plumbing, including water-damage restoration; stucco application; or metal-stud framing.
- Experience in the restoration industry or mold-remediation projects.
- Handyman experience covering multiple trades.
Responsibilities
- Inspect drywall installations for dents, gaps, uneven surfaces, and other imperfections.
- Use hand tools and sanding equipment to smooth drywall surfaces and prepare them for painting or finishing.
- Apply joint compound and tape to seams and joints.
- Repair water damage or mold issues by removing damaged drywall and restoring affected areas.
- Coordinate with carpenters, plasterers, and other trades to ensure drywall work aligns with project schematics and blueprints.
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine placement of drywall panels, fixtures, and openings.
- Install accessories such as trim carpentry, door hangings, fixtures, and moldings as needed.
- Caulk around windows, doors, and joints to create airtight seals.
- Assist with framing using metal studs or wood as required for wall structures.
- Support restoration projects by efficiently restoring damaged walls or surfaces.
