About The Position

The Drug-GM Merchandise Clerk creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintains a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. The role supports the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and meeting quality assurance standards. Requirements

Retail experience.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming customer environment by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
Maintain product knowledge and answer questions or make product suggestions.
Offer product samples to help customers discover items or learn about products they ask about.
Inform customers about Drug GM specials.
Recommend Drug GM items to help customers find the products they want and need.
Review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Maintain a positive attitude and stay current on present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
Act honestly and with integrity when handling customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
