About The Position
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in meeting the department’s sales and profit goals and monitor established quality assurance standards. Support the Customer 1st strategy, encourage excellent customer service, and demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Requirements
- Retail experience.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic math.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customers’ questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
- Maintain knowledge of department products, respond to questions, and make product suggestions.
- Offer samples to help customers discover products or try items they ask about.
- Inform customers about Drug GM specials.
- Recommend Drug GM items to help customers find the products they want and need.
- Review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special advertisements.
- Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify store management.
- Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and report items needing repair to the appropriate manager.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
