About The Position

GardaWorld Security Services is hiring a Surveillance Security Officer for a corporate industrial building in Germantown, Maryland. The officer monitors security systems and screens, spots threats before they escalate, conducts patrols, controls access, and helps protect people and property. The role requires a valid driver's license and clean driving record, Maryland Guard Card, and at least two years of security, military, or law enforcement experience. The set schedule is Monday 3 p.m.–11 p.m., Wednesday 7 a.m.–11 p.m., and Thursday and Friday 9 a.m.–5 p.m., for 40 hours per week. The officer must complete 80 hours of on-the-job training.

Requirements

• Be authorized to work in the United States.
• Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record for vehicle patrols.
• Provide documentation of a high school diploma or GED.
• Pass an extensive screening process.
• Have strong report-writing skills.
• Have good eyesight and the ability to maintain focus.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency with technology.
• Have at least two years of security, military, or law enforcement experience.
• Have a Maryland Guard Card.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Have computer literacy and phone skills.
• Have CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems to detect suspicious activity.
• Document observed events and incidents by writing detailed reports.
• Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats.
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure the safety of the premises.
• Control access to secure areas and verify visitors' identities.
• Analyze security systems to identify potential vulnerabilities or malfunctions.
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious situations or emergencies.
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property.
