About The Position

MTM Transit, in partnership with the City of Manteca, California, is hiring full-time CDL drivers to provide safe, reliable, and personalized transportation. Drivers support passengers, including older adults and individuals with disabilities, and help ensure trips are completed safely and on time. Training classes start regularly. The role involves assisting passengers with boarding, exiting, and mobility devices; inspecting vehicles; completing required paperwork; and using electronic devices during work.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid California CDL Class B or A with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements.
Minimum of 3 years of driving history.
No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 10 years.
Must pass a criminal background investigation and motor vehicle record check.
No more than 4 points in 12 months, 6 points in 24 months, or 8 points in 36 months.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Must provide a resume with a minimum of 10 years of work history.
Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations.
Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area.

Responsibilities

Provide safe and reliable transportation.
Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist passengers with loading and unloading from the vehicle.
Assist with mobility devices and securement as required for safety protocols.
Ensure on-time customer pick-up and drop-off.
Show understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Complete required vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections.
Complete required paperwork.
Use tablets or other electronic devices as required.
