About The Position

MTM Transit, in partnership with the City of Manteca, California, is hiring full-time CDL Drivers. Training classes start regularly. Drivers provide safe, reliable transportation and personalized service to passengers, including older adults and individuals with disabilities. The role includes passenger assistance, vehicle inspections, required paperwork, and use of electronic devices.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid California CDL Class B or A with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements.
Minimum of 3 years of driving history.
No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 10 years.
Must pass a criminal background investigation and motor vehicle record check.
No more than 4 points in 12 months, 6 points in 24 months, or 8 points in 36 months.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Must provide a resume documenting at least 10 years of work history.
Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations.
Familiarity with main roadways and major highways in the service area.

Responsibilities

Provide safe and reliable transportation.
Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist passengers with loading and unloading from the vehicle.
Assist with mobility devices and securement as required by safety protocols.
Ensure on-time customer pickups and drop-offs.
Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required.
Complete required paperwork.
Use tablets or other electronic devices as required.
