About The Position

Provides transportation services for customers and goods to and from destinations with sedans, vans, and trucks assigned by program daily manifest. Reviews manifests and makes changes to directions. Transporting customers to and from destinations; assures the use by all passengers of seat belts; and escorts customers with special mobility needs on and off ADA-compliant vehicles. Reports observed changes in customer eligibility or physical and mental health to an appropriate staff member. Reports immediately to appropriate organizations, such as 911, Adult Protective Services, or law enforcement, of dangerous or unsafe observations. Inspects vehicle, checking lights, tires, horn, emergency equipment, and exterior for damage. Reports equipment damage or failure. Fuels and cleans the vehicle. Uses technology and software programs to obtain information regarding daily schedules and program clients. Informs customers of other Aging Services opportunities and services. May transport clients who utilize wheelchairs using ADA-compliant vehicles.

Requirements

  • Must pass required driver's training within two weeks of hire.
  • A valid Driver’s License accepted by the State of Utah is required at the time of hire.
  • A valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Utah must be obtained within six (6) months of hire, in order to operate a County vehicle.
  • Must receive a verified negative test result on a mandatory drug test before starting this position.
  • Will be subject to random alcohol and drug testing.
  • May be subject to post-accident and reasonable suspicion alcohol and drug testing.
