About The Position

MTM Transit, in partnership with Sun Shuttle Dial A Ride, is hiring full-time CDL and Non-CDL Drivers in Ajo, Arizona. Drivers provide safe, reliable transportation and personalized service to passengers. Training classes begin every week, and shifts are assigned after training. The schedule requires availability seven days a week between 4:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., with 35–40 or more hours per week. The hourly rate is $19.50, or $20.50 for drivers with a CDL and Passenger Endorsement. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered to drivers with a CDL and Passenger Endorsement.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license; some positions may require a CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
No reckless driving offenses within the past five years.
No DUI or DWI convictions within the past ten years.
No convictions involving moral turpitude within the past five years.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening.
Ability to pass a criminal background investigation and Motor Vehicle Record check.
Schedule flexibility and availability seven days a week between 4:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.; 35–40 or more hours per week.
Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations.
Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area.

Responsibilities

Provide safe and reliable transportation.
Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills.
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist passengers with loading and unloading from the vehicle.
Assist with mobility devices and secure them according to safety protocols.
Ensure on-time passenger pickups and drop-offs.
Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and people with disabilities.
Complete required vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections.
Complete required paperwork.
Use tablets and other electronic devices as required.
