About The Position

The Driver’s Education Instructor monitors and directs students in the driver’s education program in compliance with government and management directives. The instructor processes student applications, prepares students for written examinations through lectures and discussions, evaluates student performance, and determines readiness for written and driving tests. Other duties may be assigned.

The position is part-time, based at the Hawaii (Maui) Job Corps Center in Makawao, Hawaii. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pay is $23,250 annually, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Valid certificate to teach driver’s education in Hawaii.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Process students’ driver’s education applications.
• Prepare students for written examinations through lectures and discussions.
• Evaluate students’ performance.
• Determine students’ readiness to complete the written and driving tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
