Driver Recruiter
About The Position
Universal Logistics is hiring a Driver Recruiter at its headquarters in Warren, Michigan. The recruiter will support hiring across the company’s network, primarily for CDL drivers, as well as dock workers and support roles. This is a high-volume, fast-paced position suited to someone who is organized, competitive, comfortable making frequent calls, and interested in recruiting, HR, or logistics. No prior experience is required; training will be provided. The role is full-time for 45 hours per week, Monday through Friday, on either an 8 a.m.–6 p.m. or 9 a.m.–7 p.m. schedule. Compensation includes a base salary and uncapped bonuses, with earnings of more than $100,000 noted for top earners and bonuses of up to $300 or more per hire. The position is presented as an entry point into recruiting, HR, or operations, with long-term opportunity at a stable, growing company.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and comfort on the phone.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
- Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Office and navigating systems.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, HR, Logistics, or a similar field.
- Experience with Workday, Indeed, or Tenstreet.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for CDL drivers, dock workers, and support roles.
- Source candidates through job boards, databases, and outbound outreach.
- Screen applicants and conduct phone interviews.
- Make 30–50 outbound calls and handle 15–20 inbound calls daily.
- Track candidates and recruiting activity in ATS and HR systems.
- Maintain candidate pipelines and support hiring managers.
