About The Position

Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (BBHH) is seeking a Non-Emergency Patient Transport Driver to ensure the continuity of care between BBHH and other facilities/locations. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and safety of patient transportation, directly impacting the patient's overall care experience. The driver will ensure patients reach their destinations safely, on time, and with compassionate care, extending the hospital's commitment to patient wellness beyond its walls. Working under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and in collaboration with Case Managers, the driver plays a vital role in ensuring patients continue their course of care without interruption. This is an hourly, non-exempt, overtime-eligible position.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Driver's License in the State of California
Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
Personal motor vehicle insurance that meets the minimum California State Regulations
Current BLS CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date
Completion of 'Handle-With-Care' Physical Restraint Technique Training during orientation

Responsibilities

Ensure the continuity of care between Bakersfield Behavioral Healthcare Hospital and other facilities/locations to which patients need to arrive.
Ensure quality and safety while transporting patients.
Transport patients safely, timely, and with compassionate care.
Ensure that every single patient continues to receive the best care possible, even beyond the walls of our hospital.
Work closely with Case Managers to ensure every patient gets where they need to be so that they continue their course of care.
