About The Position

Ryder is hiring a non-CDL driver in Gustine, Texas, to deliver dairy products on Central Texas routes and return home daily. The driver operates a reefer box truck and handles heavy-touch freight, using equipment such as a pallet jack and hand truck. The role averages 50 hours per week, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 3:00 AM start time. Paid training is provided. Pay is $22.00 per hour, with advertised weekly earnings of $1,210 or more. The position requires dispatch customer service experience; reefer or grocery delivery experience and pallet jack experience are preferred.

Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance support and access to fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The job involves safe vehicle operation, regulatory compliance, hazard prevention, accurate recordkeeping, and loading or unloading freight or assisting with those tasks when required by the customer.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Have at least six months of verifiable driving experience, meeting one of the stated experience windows: six months within the past three years, two years within the last five years, or five years within the last ten years.
• For roles operating a straight truck or box truck, have verifiable experience in like equipment.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a vehicle while complying with applicable safety regulations and completing continuous training.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Complete other tasks as assigned.
• Provide customer service.
