About The Position

This is a finance position responsible for checking in drivers who have completed their routes. The role involves verifying returned products and company property, maintaining records of the quantity, type, and value of materials and merchandise, and inspecting product returns. It also documents return information to support efficient processing, inventory updates, and decisions about restocking or customer credits.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
One year of pallet jack and/or forklift experience.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
Exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two-way communication.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Solid problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Check in drivers after completed routes by verifying returned products, customer-signed invoices, possible missed deliveries, and the return of pallets, totes, and other company property.
Identify missed collections and notify Credit Services.
Confirm food safety protocols were followed for returns and coordinate issues with Food Safety personnel.
Ensure delivery exceptions are noted on the invoice and/or delivery exception report.
Inspect returned products to determine whether they are appropriate for restocking or whether the customer warrants a credit.
Select or adjust invoice reason codes as needed; code damaged or inferior products with the appropriate damage code and mark the code on the damaged case.
Separate and stage products for return processing, and count returned items to verify quantities against return sheets and invoices.
Record overages on the return sheet using the available stock/warehouse location report so products can be re-entered into the inventory system promptly.
