About The Position
The Delivery Driver safely and efficiently operates a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations, delivering freight undamaged. The role works as part of a team to deliver, load, and unload building materials while providing a high-quality customer service experience. Drivers inspect vehicles, transport materials to commercial and residential job sites, and place deliveries in the areas directed by customers. Work is performed primarily outdoors, including on active construction and customer sites and in varying weather conditions. The position involves frequent handling of heavy and bulky materials, regular operation of commercial delivery vehicles, and may involve material-handling equipment. Drivers must follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Early starts, overtime, and schedule flexibility may be needed to meet customer and operational demands.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL), with at least a Class B license.
- Clear three-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- General knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with assistance or mechanical equipment as needed.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information with management and coworkers.
Nice To Haves
- Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the truck and trailer for defects to ensure safe operation.
- Safely load building materials onto a flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
- Deliver materials to the area directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Report all accidents involving the driver or company equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional attitude.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams.
