This position is in the Delivery family and involves administering, supervising, or performing work related to the planning, directing, or operating of transportation equipment and service. This includes driving, loading, and coordinating deliveries. The role is responsible for operating commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating over 26,001 lbs. to deliver or pick up merchandise, materials, and equipment to assigned regional and/or local destinations and customers in a timely fashion. Responsibilities also include loading and unloading trucks, transporting metal safely and efficiently, maintaining inventory accuracy, cleaning and organizing the warehouse, and scheduling loads. The driver may also perform safety-affecting activities on smaller motor vehicles and must follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods, including securement of cargo. Safely maneuvering trucks into loading or unloading positions, performing daily vehicle inspections, and using an electronic logging device (ELD) are also key functions. The driver must report traffic incidents and damage to vehicles, read bills of lading and manifests, and ensure all load-related documentation is complete and accurate. Adherence to safety processes and protocols is essential.
